I hate alot of things. I bet you do, too. This site is me and all of my shit. Fun, eh?
Damn it. Finally, a question that cannot be answered with the powers of Google. Any opinions?

I love both of these shows very much. The stupidity of Homer Simpson is pure joy to watch, yet South Park.. well, it KICKS ASS
Can anyone shed a little light onto the answer of this question?
Once I get a good amount of posts, I'll reply with my opinion.

Oh me oh my this is difficult......probably South Park since...well, like you said, it KICKS ASS

hmm...I prefer Family Guy myself, but if I had the choice, I would pick South Park because I haven't seen all the episodes yet.

South Park: It's vile and disgusting on so many levels, yet manages to provide at least one redeeming moral to each episode (or at least all the ones I've seen, which isn't that many). Can't beat that bizarre twist

The Simpsons. It has longevity.

Simple. King of the Hill.

As much as I love family guy, king of the hill, and simpsons, there is just that provacative twang in south park that draws me in. Matt and Trey (the creators or south park) have no boundaries when it comes to discussing celebrities, current events, and types of people, the lack of political correctness is what I find so refreshing.
Some say that the stereotypes and parodies displayed on the show are in poor taste; that they make is seem okay to make fun of other people. I must disagree. All though South Park is big on straddling stereotypes, they make fun of EVERYONE. There is not one race, culture, type of person, etc. that has NOt been made fun of on the show.
I think people should embrace is for what it is:
A humurous satirical look at America.

Anyone else have lengthy paragraphs about their picks?

always here to ignore political correctness,

Simpsons. South Park isn't nearly as witty.

King of the hill?? Puuuhleassse!

Mike Judge should bury that show and go back to doing Beavis and Butthead!

South Park for the love of bukkake!
Who needs wit when you have outrageous.
Shit... Looney Toons are as witty, if not more, than The Simpsons IMO.

What can I say? On the topic of king and the hill, I must say that Beavis and Butthead was much better. I liked the crude dumbass teenage humor (this is meant as a compliment, promise!!) way more than I like the "loving satirical view" of Texas. If anyone else has any insights on BEAVIS & BUTTHEAD vs. KING OF THE HILL, please post!

I love the Simpsons...sure, South Park is funny...but its characters aren't as endearning as the Springfield folks...I wonder if its a generation thing...If younger ppl are more inclined to like South Park than the Simpsons...

I agree somewhat. While I know for a fact that mostly only teens apreciate the offbeat humor of Kenny dying every episode, and everyone at my school can do an effective improssion of Cartman.
Simpsons is something that I like in phases. I like it most when I can relate to one character in particular. I'm sure watchers could easily pick out a charcter that they, well, characterize with! In elementary school I felt Lisa wa my long lost sister; In middle school I got to know bart as more of the brother I deserved. Now I'm in a phase where I feel like I have outgrown the simpson children, and I am waiting for my maturity to kick in so I can feel for Marge and fall in love with Homer. I think only with true age and wisdom can I achieve the final step in life: Maggie-ness!
Right now south park is my haven. Although the characters are kids, the cussing and sexual humor brings cartman right up to 14, where I now reside. Maybe someday soon I will fall back into the cycle of Simpson, but for now, I'll take songs about crack anyday!

Wow, talk about a tough choice!

South Park is awesome, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are geniuses, however, The Simpson's obviously have staying power. Currently, I watch way more South Park, but I am a Simpson's Vet...I have watched for at least 14 years...

I will consult my husband with this pressing matter. He says South Park.....

I will say The Simpson's.
on Feb 20, 2005
Phew, tough choice. Personally, The Simpsons wins purely for the fact that anywhere in the world at anytime, there is a Simpsons episode playing. South Park has its moments, as does King of the Hill, Beavis and Butthead and Family Guy. I am also a big fan of The Mr. Hell Show. It is hell-good.
on Feb 21, 2005
Ah, I love both these shows. The original Ren and Stimpy would also be on my list. Beavis and Butthead and South Park both had movies that weren't as good as the show, and Simpsons hasn't made that mistake.

But then again, Simpsons has quoted "Cannibal: The Musical" and South Park did a "Simpons Did It" episode, so I think these cartoons like each other.

Subversive animation forever!

"Trying is the first step towards failure."--Homer Simpson

"It's too bad they don't pay you for drinking scotch...Kenny's dad'd be rich!"---Eric Cartman

"Fuhhbllaahrblufif!"----Kenny

"Yeah, it's like he disappeared into fat air! Huh-ahuha-ahauh(laughing)"---Selma, on the disappearance of Homer in "Homer 3D"

"No! You go to Hell! You go to Hell and you die!"---Mr. Hat

"Smithers--who is that slovenly lout, muching donuts and prancing merrily about the control room....ON MY TIME!?"

"Homer Simpson, sir. Sector 7J."---Smithers

I love them both. They both poke big holes in pop culture, politics, society.....and yet remain unbiased, making fun of all sides equally.
For pure grossness, though, Myrr's right....it's Ren and Stimpy all the way.
